The Bathroom is Coming Along....
Sunday, January 16, 2011
10 Weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: about 2lbs
Maternity Clothes: I still fit into all my clothes comfortably
Gender: We aren't finding out until our Baby's Birthday!
Movement: None yet
Sleep: I feel like all I can do is sleep...and that is all I want to do! I am so happy that Zoe is sleeping about 2 hours for 2 naps a day!
What I miss: Coffee...since I have no energy, I need a pick me up....but no coffee for me :(
Cravings: I love sweets, but I love them pregnant or not. Really craved Mexican the other night and I have really liked Peanut Butter and Graham Crackers for a snack. I also can't get enough water!
Symptoms: Daily, I make the decision of what is more important....Eating, Sleeping or Going to the bathroom...so I usually keep saltines by my bed so I don't have to get up and I just hold it!
Best Moment this week: I am really starting to show this week! I have heard that you show sooner in your 2nd/3rd pregnancies....it gets me so excited!

Let the Preggo Posts Begin!
This time around we told our family in our Christmas Card. I took a pregnancy test....to be honest...it was probably the 10th test (pregnancy test companies must be billionaires!)...on Monday the 13th and right afterwards, we licked and mailed the cards. I just knew we were pregnant, so I thought it would be a cute way of telling everyone. From reaction...and this being the 3rd time around, I don't feel like anyone was really surprised....just really happy for us. And some didn't see the note at all, so we had to do some follow ups :) But, it ended up being really fun getting everyone's phone calls...making sure they had read the card right and the big congrats.
I have switched doctors for this pregnancy, for two reasons. One....after delivery with Oliver...I had a really bad taste in my mouth from the way my doctor handled things. I didn't feel like there was much compassion and in those types of times, all you want is compassion. So, I decided to move on. Two...I am now covered by insurance at my work....so I had to switch practices anyway. This time around, too, I want to deliver with a midwife. My new insurance is with Kaiser Permanente. Mixed feelings about this...but the coverage is much better. I am not used to big practices with lots of doctors and midwives, but we will make it work.
While in Berry celebrating Christmas with Zach's Family, I started to spot some. I wasn't too alarmed by it, but my instincts kicked in and I felt it would be best for me to set up my first appointment to check on the spotting and to confirm the pregnancy. That Monday, I went in and I was indeed pregnant, but when Pam, the midwife, took a look at the ultrasound, she sensed something was not normal. I can't even really put into words the emotions that went through my head...I was devastated! She let me know that she had scheduled an appointment for the radiologist an hour later and that she wanted a more in depth ultrasound done.
I called Zach immediately and he met me for the appointment. I have come to not love these types of ultrasounds so much....this one was no different. A lot of silence...poking and probing. We met back with Pam afterwards and she let me know that there was blood outside of the sac surrounding the baby and that I was measuring a week smaller than I should based on my last period. They believe I hemorrhaged and their main concern was that the blood was hindering the baby's growth. I got my blood drawn before we left to have my HCG levels tested and I had to go back two days later to get my blood drawn again. On Christmas Eve, I was able to call and get the results from the blood work....everything was perfect! My levels were increasing just as they should! Music to my ears! We scheduled an appointment for two weeks later to recheck everything.
I started to spot again....so I rescheduled my appointment immediately for Monday, the 3rd. The ultrasound showed growth! I measured 7w4d on Monday and we saw a teeny tiny flicker for a heartbeat! The doctor we met with let us know that this was exactly what we wanted to see to reassure us that things were going okay. More music to my ears! I asked him more about my due date and he said that they would be keeping it for August 14th, based on the first day of my last period....even though conception didn't line up perfectly with that date. The difference is 6 days and he said that wasn't really a big deal.
o things are looking good and I am so excited! I ask all of you to please keep us in your prayers though! I am going to schedule my next appointment for between 10 and 12 weeks. And I get another ultrasound!

Ringing in the New Year!
At around 6pm, they had fireworks....but Zoe had had enough by this point. Later, for adults, they had a Beatles Cover Band and more fireworks....I would love to be able to enjoy that one year....we will see :)

What is Ms. Zoe Zoo up to?
- Zoe is ALL OVER the place! She is walking and still crawling at times. She has just now started to stand up without using anything for help. One of her favorite things to do is push the shopping cart around the store. She will walk and walk until she literally falls to her knees because she is so tired.
- Zoe loves to talk. She can now say Mommy, Daddy, Mama, Hi, Hey, Bye Bye, Night Night, Book, Ball, Puppy, Baby, Happy, Nose, Eyes, No No, More, All Done, Cheese (when a picture is being taken), Hop (for a bunny), Down, Hot and blows for fires and anything in a bowl or coffee cup. She points at what she wants, especially when eating. She makes noises for cows, sheep and horses. She also now points to her nose and hits her head to sing "head, shoulders, knees and toes". She loves animals and squeals "OOooo" anytime she sees one.
- Zoe is a GREAT eater. She goes straight to her high chair when I ask if she is hungry and she goes "MMmmmMM". There is really nothing she doesn't love. Lately, she has really loved mac n' cheese, grapes, bananas, grilled cheese, pb&j. She tried lasagna, pizza...she loves Chicken Nuggets from Chick-fil-a (duh!). We are still hesitant to sweets. She was able to sneak a couple peanut m&ms from the coffee table and she made the biggest "mmMMmm" sound I have ever heard her make. It was so funny; like she really wanted me to know how much she liked them.
- Zoe is sleeping great at night and 2 naps a day. She loves her bed! She is not very fond of sleeping in a pack n' play, which makes traveling no fun....and I can't blame her. She sleeps with a blanket, a bear, a lion and a bunny. She cuddles with them and plays with them in the morning. So cute!
- Zoe loves her Baby Doll she got for her birthday. She carries her around (by the neck) and lays her down on her pillow pet...over and over. I have started to talk to her about being gentle with the baby and loving on the baby. She hasn't quite caught on yet...but we have time.
- Zoe is not interested in the TV at all. I can't get her to watch anything for more than 5 seconds. If I put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, she just dances to the songs and goes on with her play.
- Zoe hums and sings a ton in the car and while she is calming to sleep. It just melts my heart.
- Zoe screams "Hi, Daddy" when she hears the door open and close in the afternoon.
- Zoe has 5 teeth and 1 just dying to break through. No signs of molars yet.
- Zoe is currently sick :( She started with a sinus infection that led to an ear infection....she is just pathetic and not herself. But I do love how cuddly she is. She will just lay with me all day.
I just love every stage Zoe goes through. Her personality is just beaming right now! She is no longer baby...in any way...she is my little toddler!
