Strawberry Pickin' and Mud a Stickin'

Wednesday, we had an absolute blast going to Washington Farms with The Williams' Family to go gather some amazingly delicious strawberries!  I love that we have so many local farms that have fun activities for kids every season.  This will definitely become a tradition for our family.  This go around, we only filled one bucket...well kind of...I didn't fill the bucket to the top to make up for how many strawberries Evan ate instead of putting them in the bucket....but next time we will definitely do more buckets!  It is Saturday and we have eaten all the strawberries we picked.  SO GOOD!

 About half way through our picking time, I guess Evan got full and decided to wander and found the one and only mudhole.  Before I knew it, I saw him fall and mud fly.  Such a country little boy at heart.

Don't they look just perfect!  Each and every one of them were so good they tasted like candy!

Can't wait to go back!

A Day at the Fountains

I must say that my energy has come back at the absolute best time!  Summer is on the horizon and the weather this past week has been glorious!  The kids and I have been outside nonstop, whether in our yard or at the park.

One of my favorite spots to hit up before it gets too hot is the Suwanee Fountains.  Zoe loves this place and this was Evan's 1st time to really enjoy them.  They both had a blast!  Evan could not get enough!

We spent majority of the day out here with a picnic lunch and some Yogli Mogli to finish!  Perfect afternoon with my loves!   So excited for all the fun activities ahead this summer!

Alice in Wonderland: Zoe's 1st Recital

I have 100% come to terms with the fact that my daughter is a girly-girl.  The kid hates to be outside longer than 15 minutes, gets so excited to wear her "glass slippas" around the house and asks multiple times a day if we can "sit on the couch and relax".

Zoe has loved, loved ballet!  She gets so excited every Friday for class and can't wait to see her friends.  She loves the outfit, the little slippers, the music...she just loves it all.  But her love hit an all time high with the recital this weekend.  I have never seen this kid so excited!

Friday was rehearsal day.  We got her all dressed up in her bunny attire...hair and makeup...ears and all.  She was beaming and my little mommy heart was on fire for her.  Seeing your kids happy is feeling that is really hard to put into words...it is just the best!  We had a mini photo shoot before heading off to rehearsal.  At the rehearsal, we were able to take pictures of the performance so you know this mama was snapping away.

Sunday was the big night!  Zoe is so blessed to have family close to be able to come to her special events.  Grammy and Papa wouldn't miss their girl dancing for the world.  And we were so excited that Zoe's Godmother, Jenny, and her family were able to come as well!

 Kaitlin was speaking to the teens at SJN Sunday night, so she was able to stop by for a second to see her favorite rabbit.  Zoe could not stop saying how excited she was!

 She was READY!

 After the recital, my dad and mom gave Zoe a beautiful bouquet and I am not sure Zoe could have smiled bigger!  She absolutely loved receiving her flowers and getting a big "We are so proud of you!"...did I mention that she is girly?

It was a long and exhausting but absolutely wonderful night!

Advice to an Expectant Mother of a Boy

• Stock up on clorox wipes, oxiclean and magic erasers (these make for great, realistic items to add to your registry).
• Buy a really, really good vacuum cleaner.  The broom doesn't cut it.
• It is never a good sign when you go to get your son out of his crib in the morning and he smells like your scentsy warmer.  If this happens and you then find scentsy wax all down your leather couch....I have a tip.  Get wipes (suggested above) and a toothpick and slowly tick away all the wax from the couch.  Patience is key.  And so is buying a leather couch...there would be no solution for suede, fabric or any other microfiber couch or don't buy scentsy warmers (but then how would you cover up the nasty poop smell in your house caused by said boy?).
• Stop buying nice things for your home now.  Don't argue with me.  Don't tell me your sweet baby boy won't do this...won't break that....won't destroy anything.  Denial.  You'll thank me later and so will your husband's wallet.
• The toilet is like a indoor water table.  Boys don't care about fecal matter or pee.  They embrace germs.  Get into the habit now of always putting the seat down and shutting the bathroom door.  ALWAYS.  
• Learn to laugh...it is the best solution and advice I could give.
