Our Honeymoon

After a wonderful and "Dream Come True" Wedding, Zach and I got to enjoy a week off from work and all the joys of real life on our Honeymoon. Sunday, after brunch with family, we checked into The Overlook Inn in Chatsworth, GA. It was amazing. If you ever need a place to getaway for two or three nights of pure relaxation this is the place to do it. We stayed Sunday night through Wednesday morning. There were no clocks, no tv, no outside world, just us two. Sunday night after checking in, we went to dinner at The Lodge Inn. It had the most beautiful view and great steaks!

Monday, we started the day with a yummy breakfast in the main room of the inn. The view is breathtaking and made breakfast so romantic. We went into Ellijay, a neighboring town, for lunch and then headed to Amicalola Falls to go for a little stroll through nature that turned into over 600 steps to the top of the falls. What a work out! After our hike, we went back to the inn to relax. We ordered The Fireside Picnic Basket for dinner. The Inn has a ton of different packages you can purchase to make your stay perfect. We ate dinner in the main room of the Inn and then played scrabble...so old fashion...but so fun! We then got to relax in the hot tub!

Tuesday, we had a big day planned at the spa. We started the day with Breakfast in Bed. I swear they read my mind! We got Banana Pancakes, Zach's favorite, yogurt and granola, oj, and CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS....my absolute favorite. It was divine. Then we headed to Serenity in the Mountains day spa, the perfect place to be after a big hike the day before. It was just what we needed. We got a great couple's massage and pedicure. I want to go back!

Wednesday arrived too quick and we were off to the Airport to fly to New York. We got the best of both worlds...relaxation in the mountains and the crazy greatness of the city. Julie, my former boss and now great friend, picked us up from the airport. We stayed in Connecticut with them the whole week. I was so excited to get to see them after being away for over 5 months. Syndey grew so much. It was unbelievable. Wednesday night, we all hung out at the house and grilled out and played. When Keith got home, we all toasted to the newly weds and watched some football.

Thursday, we headed into the city. Oh how I love New York! There is something so special about it that no other place has. We started our day with bagels in Central Park and then took a carriage ride around the park....so romantic. Then, we played in FAO Swartz and walked around the city. We got a little bit lost on the subway into Queens but found our way to SOHO. There we walked around more and got GREAT pizza and beer at a local pizza parlor. I could have eaten the whole pizza! After that we went into the Bronx to eat...again....with my PopPop, Pat, and my sister and her family. We ate at the ABSOLUTE BEST Italian Restaurant ever! We call it "Patsy's" after one of the owners but its name is Pasquale Rigoletto's. I once again, didn't want to stop eating. The food was amazing and the canoles were even better. After dinner, my PopPop dropped us off at the Minskoff Theatre to see The Lion King. I have never been so impressed with a show. It was unbelievable how they did everything. I loved every moment of it.

Friday, we went back into the city and ate AGAIN! We really only went in on Friday to eat. Our first stop was Serendipity 3....one of the cutest places and has the best desserts. I ordered the famous Frozen Hot Chocolate and Zach ordered the Lemon Ice Box pie. Both were to die for. Then we ate lunch, a little out of order. Zach had never had a "dirty water dog" so it was a must have. They are so gooooooodddd! And we got a pretzel. We walked around Time Square for a while and then it started to rain so we headed back to Connecticut. Overall, an amazing trip!

Saturday, we spent the day with Syd, Keith, and Julie. We ate lunch at a cute restuarant called Burger Bar and then they dropped us off at the airport. I didn't hesitate to immediately plan a trip to Taco Mac upon our arrival into Atlanta. A great way to finish out an amazing week.
